INTISARI. Pemeliharaan tanaman kakao dengan metode pemangkasan, pemupukan, panen sering dan sanitasi (P3S) adalah salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan produktifitas kakao dan mengendalikan hama penyakit. Praktik kerja lapang ini dilakukan di Pusat Pembelajaran Kakao Nagekeo untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketramapilan praktis tentang manajemen melalui pemeliharaan tanaman kakao dengan metode pemangkasan, pemupukan, panen sering, dan sanitasi. Praktik kerja lapang ini dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan, yaitu sejak Maret Juni 2019, dengan menggunakan metode observasi dan praktik secara langsung ataupun melalui diskusi/wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil PKL menunjukan bahwa Pusat Pembelajaran Kakao Nagekeo menggunakan prinsip-prinsip manajemen, yaitu perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dalam pemeliharaan tanaman kakao. Prinsip-prinsip manajemen tersebut diterapkan baik dalam pemangkasan, pemupukan, panen sering, maupun sanitasi. Tenaga kerja berupa tenaga kerja kelompok dan tenaga kerja harian tetap bsebanyak 2 orang pekerja dengan upah Rp 25.000/hari/orang. Kegiatan pemeliharaan sebanyak 6 hari per minggu dengan waktu kerja pada hari Senin-Kamis dari 06:30 sampai 11:30, dan pada hari Jumat-Sabtu dari jam 07:00-11:00. Fungsi-fungsi manajemen, seperti perencanaan, pengorganisasian, dan, evaluasi dalam pemangkasan, pemupukan, panen sering, dan sanitasi (P3S) telah berjalan sesuai perencanaan yang telah di tetapkan oleh Pusat Pembelajaran Kakao Nagekeo.

ABSTRACT. Maintaining cocoa plants by pruning, fertilizing, frequent harvesting, and sanitation are used to increase cocoa productivity and to control pests and diseases. The fieldwork practice was run at the Nagekeo Cocoa Learning Center to increase knowledge and practical skills of fieldwork students regarding management by learning the maintenance of cocoa plants through pruning, fertilizing, frequent harvesting, and sanitation. The fieldwork was taken place for 3 months, from March to June 2019, using direct practice and observation and practice and discussion/interviews methods and documentation. The results showed that the Nagekeo Cocoa Learning Center has used management principles i.e. planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating in the maintaining cocoa plants. These management principles were applied either in pruning, fertilizing, frequent harvesting, or sanitation. The laborers included those in the group and the permanent ones of 2 with a wage of Rp. 25,000/day/laborer. Maintenance activities were as many as 6 days per week with work hours on Monday-Thursday from 06:30 to 11:30, and on Friday-Saturday from 07: 00-11: 00. The principals of management, such as planning, organizing, and evaluating in pruning, fertilizing, frequent harvesting, and sanitation have been performed according to the planning set by the Nagekeo Cocoa Learning Center.
